Industrivärden’s archives
now at the Centre for Business History

We have been entrusted with Industrivärden’s historical archive, 52 shelf meters from the long-term asset manager, covering its history from the start in 1944 until today.

The investment company Industrivärden was founded by Handelsbanken in 1944. Its first large shareholding was in today’s telecom giant Ericsson. Since then, Industrivärden has developed into a leading long-term asset manager, with portfolio companies such as Sandvik, Volvo, Handelsbanken and Essity.

The Center for Business History has been entrusted with taking care of the company’s archives, previously housed at the company’s head office. Over 52 shelf meters of material that covers the company’s history from the start to the present have been arranged and listed. Among many things, there is material from the time when Industrivärden pushed through a reconstruction of the problem-laden company Fermenta. As Industrivärden’s organization has been relatively small, the archive also consists of personal material from managers and CEOs.
