In 1865, the German immigrant Wilhelm Becker opened a paint shop in Stockholm. 150 years later, the company is a global leader in industrial paint and is today headquartered in Germany. At the Centre for Business History in Stockholm, we helped Beckers mark the celebration by producing the book “150 colorful years- celebrating the people behind Beckers”.
This year, the global paint leader Beckers is celebarting 150 years as a company. To mark the occasion, we at the Centre for Business History in Stockholm helped Beckers produce the book “150 colourful years – celebrating the people behind Beckers”, where 150 coworkers from across the world give their view on the company they work for. The book presents both the history of Beckers, interesting facts from the past 150 years, and also gives information about Beckers’ production units and sales offices in 18 different countries.
We project managed the production process, with our Sara Johansson as editor. The design came from design agency Some Guys.
In addition, Beckers’s owners the Lindén Group has also prublished a separate jubilee book, titled “Beckers, the first 150 years”. The source material for this book was largely found in AB Wilh. Beckers archives, which are managed by us at the Centre for Business History in Stockholm.
