New archive client:
Göteborgs kex

The biscuits and crackers giant Göteborgs Kex is closing its historic factory in Kungälv by end of 2022, when production is moved to Latvia. Prior to this, the factory’s archive has been inventoried and materials transferred to the Center for Business History in Bromma.

In addition to large amounts of accounts, from the start in 1888 onwards, the archive consists of correspondence, price lists, printed matter, product packaging and a vast picture archive. The latter contains fine documentation of the early factory environments. The product packaging from the interwar period clearly shows the British influences in assortment and design language.

The work was carried out on behalf of Göteborgs Kex’s owner, Orkla Confectionary & Snack Sverige AB.
