During two hours, we discussed Swedish enterprising throughout the ages and also how enterpreneurship is treated in education. Of course, we showed some gems from the archives.

Last week, crown princess Victoria, prince Daniel and prince Carl Phlip visited us at the Centre for Business History. We talked about Swedish business history, with an extra focus on the reforms of the 1800s, that paved the way for “the golden century” (1870 – 1979) in the development of the coutnry. We also discussed how today’s education and school systems incorporate – or not – the role of enterpreneurs and businesses; and about the importance for students to learn critical source verification, something our head of school activities, Anahi Davila, focused extra on.

These were the slides that our ceo Alexander Husebye and our head of research Anders Houltz used during the conversation:

We also, of course, took a walk in the archives, where our colleagues Eva Ersson Åbom, Gustav SvenssonJenny Stendahl and Krister Hillerud presented some gems from the Swedish corporate archives that we are entrusted with.
