(The event will be in Swedish only.)

Meet the authors behind some of the latest books from our publishing arm Business History Publishing:

  • Karin Jansson Myhr: ”The Remote Swedish Gaming Industry” (Den moderna svenska spelbranschen).
For 20 years, Swedish companies have been among the world’s most innovative in online gaming. The challenges and tribulations of these companies are told in “The Modern Swedish Gaming Industry”, a book where we meet the companies that broke ground and the people who worked at the pioneer companies and drove the industry’s development during a 20-year era. This is their story, told by Karin Jansson Myhr and Dennis Avorin, based on long and many interviews. The book also addresses other issues that have had an impact on the gaming industry, such as marketing, lobbying, regulations and responsible gaming.
  • Mikael Lönnborg: ”Transformations – Insurance company Skandia 1990–2016” (Omvandlingar – Försäkringsbolaget Skandia 1990–2016)
How did Skandia such tremendous success in the 1990s, how did the company survive the scandals in the early 2000s, and how did the company become a subsidiary of a foreign group through a hostile bid from its competitor Old Mutual? Mats Larsson and Mikael Lönnborg answers these, and many other questions, in in-depth study on Sweden’s first modern insurance company.
  • Olof Ljungström: ”Research for Life – 100 years with Swedish Society for Medical Research” (Forskning för livet – Svenska Sällskapet för Medicinsk Forskning)
Founded in 1919, the Swedish Society for Medical Research (SSMF) has for the last hundred years served as an important bridge between curious researchers and new medical discoveries. Thousands of young researchers have, through financial support from SSMF, been given better opportunities to succeed in their search for crucial breakthroughs, a work that in the long run has created better care and more effective medicines. The book tells the society’s hundred-year history – and lets us meet employees, prominent researchers and some of all the donors who have made, and continue to make, SSMF’s mission possible.

When: 4 December 18:00–20:00.
Where: Wenströmsalen, IVAs konferenscenter, Grev Turegatan 16.

Please note that the event will be held in Swedish only.

The books will be available for purchase at marked down prices.
